Circular Heatshields
Heat shields come in circular and rectangular shapes and are used to protect vacuum system components (such as cryopumps) from radiated heat. Instead of the 5-bounce chevron design, these baffles have louvers which only block the line-of-site from the heat source. This allows greater conductance as compared to contamination trapping baffles.

Diffusers are a type of baffle that direct the flow of air (or other gasses) into or out of a vacuum chamber. They are similar to heatshields, except they have no cooling capabilities. They come in many shapes and sizes and are custom designed for a specific process.
